Sutter Pointe - A Unique Heritage. A Promising Future.
Sutter Pointe

The foundation of Sutter Pointe is good planning
for good jobs and a balanced community.

With careful and thorough planning, we will create the perfect mixture of features, which will bring more benefits to our region while utilizing less land.

Sutter Pointe will create quality jobs for the people who live here. Quality jobs can keep our children and grandchildren in the community, and allow them to have the career opportunities they might only have today by moving away. Quality jobs improve the quality of life for communities because people can work one good job instead of two or even three service jobs. That means they have more time to do the things they love.

Sutter Pointe is 7,500 acres in the south county, in the area set aside for development in the 1996 General Plan adopted by the Board of Supervisors. Sutter Pointe will create:

  • 3,600 acres for new offices, high-tech companies, industrial employers and job training
  • 1,000 acres of schools, parks, public buildings, and open space paid for by the development
  • 2,900 acres of new homes close to where people will work

In addition, our plan will build the roads and infrastructure necessary for the next century, including new roads, schools, proper drainage and flood prevention measures, and much more. Most importantly, the plan has been designed to generate every dollar needed to pay for all of these improvements.

And the builders will be required to sign binding contracts guaranteeing that the plan will be carried out according to Measure M.
